(Please indicate on your application that you’re cool with being in close quarters for sleeping!) Both spaces have fully functioning bathrooms and showers, coffee makers, dining areas, and kitchens. Camp Cuesta boasts a campfire area, horseshoe pit, two miles of trails, hammock areas, and there’s even a trampoline if you want to work some stress out of your body!

Food and Dining: All meals are included in the retreat. Our menu has been prepared by pastry chef Shelby Livingston who is flying in from Utah to host, cook, and bake for us! One of our meals will be catered by local Birmingham restaurant (and one of Tara’s favorites!) Refined to Go.

Swag and Extras: We can’t wait to give you your swag bag! Included will be House Peace branded merch like stickers and Tara’s favorite scissors as well as your very own hammock, and — get this — a beautiful poem written by poet David Gate, created just for MAKING ROOM guests. You’ll also go home with PDFs that summarize each of the workshops, and include links to resources like books, podcasts, recommended organizing supplies, and more.

Testimonials and Reviews: This is our very first retreat, but here’s what people are saying about House Peace!

  • “The Closet Peace class that I took has changed the game for me. I look at my "things" differently now. Tara was so knowledgeable and supportive throughout everything. I learned so much and will definitely be applying what these new ideas. I can't wait to take another class!” — Mary S.

  • “I like two qualities in people I hire: competency and caring. Tara gets me and what I need, and she's really good at the competency side of things too. I can't wait to get started on my project after our initial consultation. There'll be before and after photos that will be stunning, I'm sure!” — Gayle W.

  • “House Peace has been such an incredible blessing to me! Mrs. Tara and Mrs. Penny have given me such a gift, my house is my happy place again! They put in hours of hard work to help me declutter and organize my home, and I could not be happier with the results. They were kind, patient, and encouraging through the whole process. I was nervous about anyone seeing how cluttered my home had become, but they met me with no judgement and nothing but help and support. I have never felt so good about my home, and I am forever grateful to these wonderful ladies and their company for getting me the help and organization I needed!” — Eryn M.
